Alemu Hailu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature,
Addis Ababa University. He did BA in Foreign Languages and Literature and MA in Teaching
English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) at Addis Ababa University. He did PhD in English
Language Education at Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL),
Hyderabad, India. Alemu has Higher Diploma in Learning-Teaching and Higher Diploma
Teacher Education from Addis Ababa University.

He also has Certificate of Management Consultants and Certificate of Project Planning and Implementation from Ethiopian Management Institute. His field of specializations are language curriculum/program design and
language teaching and learning materials development.

He has consulted and led teams that designed new curriculum (Gada Education), renew Afaan Oromoo language curriculum, developed Afaan Oromoo textbooks and supplementary reading materials.

Alemu has published books, monographs, textbooks and a number of research articles in local and international journals.
