Major Achievements

ØJaatanii Guddicha Afaan Oromo(JGAO) launched by group of our Diaspora scholars to collect translated words asked by Google. But, the team didn’t deliver the project

ØAfaan Publication Movement across Oromia, Event hosted at GGO

ØAfaan Oromo Academy Proposed/designed by Fedhasa Tadese, presented on different medias/organs.

ØTelegram Announced Afaan Oromo translation

ØMeanwhile Google Afaan Oromo remains paused.

2020/1/2 – Major Achievements

Two Ethiopian Languages Included to Google

ØAfaan Oromo Google Translate Re-requested and Immediately Approved

ØVolunteer youths from inside and outside participated tirelessly 

ØMeta Company again announced Afaan Oromo translation for WhatsApp.

ØFinally Google announced  Afaan Oromo alongside with 23 others languages

ØGoogle Resources center(Crowdsource) created as its Regional branch in Ethiopia (Google Crowdsource-Ethiopia)

ØUnited States of Africa (NGO with more than 500K followers) officially included Afaan Oromo as working language
